The world wide phenomenal series Squid Game will be back for a second season after getting a greenlight from Netflix.
Netflix confirmed the return in a teaser posted on Instagram. The short video features the famous killer doll named Young-hee with its iconic line in the game Green Light, Red Light. The caption says, " On your marks. Get set. Green light. Squid Game Continues."
Aside from the teaser clip, a thrilling message was also shared for the fans from the director, writer, and executive producer of the show Hwang Dong Hyuk. They were very grateful for making Squid Game as the most popular Netflix ever. He revealed that it took them 12 years to create the first season but in the span of 12 days it became a global hit.
In the special message, the director disclosed that the main lead 'Gi-hun' who won the game will be returning. The front man 'Hwang In-ho' who also is the missing brother of the policeman Jun-ho will make its comeback for the second season. In addition, the man in suit with ddakji portrayed by Gong Yoo 'might' also be back.
"You’ll also be introduced to Young-hee’s boyfriend," he added.
Record breaking Squid Game follows a story of 456 different lives of contestants who are debt-ridden and in need of money. Each of them were invited by a mysterious man to play a series of children's games on a secluded and unknown island. To win the huge amount of money, each participant must successfully win each game, if not they will die instantly. Games played in the series were Red Light & Green Light, Honeycomb Candy, Marbles, Tug Of War, Glass Bridge, and The Squid Game.
Fans are now excited about what's gonna happen as they share their sentiments and wild guesses on the upcoming second season.
