Psst… Wanna Grab Some Hot Side Hustle Tea-ps?
By Andrea Kelly Cerdeña 01 Oct 2026 83

Are you a student who’s looking for a flexible side job? Or perhaps an 8-to-5 office worker in the day who has plenty of time at night and is searching for an extra gig?

This might be the fresh tip you are looking for…

After numerous research efforts, including my personal experiences, I have collected at least five side hustle ideas to earn more money without compromising your regular occupation. And this often works as a freelance job—letting you work wherever you can.

Let’s start with number one: ESL (English as a Second Language Teacher), or in layman’s terms, an English teacher. It’s a freelance job where your main task is to teach kids (mostly international) the English language. Your setup is always online, and you’ll be teaching them with digital platforms such as ClassIn, Voov, or depending on the chosen medium of the company and students.

However, the main question is: where will you be getting clients? If you are a beginner, then search for a company that is lenient with you and has no multiple lists of requirements to pass, like the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). In this situation, materials to use are also provided by the company, and your schedule is based on your own preferences.

The cons are that the salary is not high, especially if you only get a few workloads.

Second is a Virtual Assistant, quite similar to a customer service agent, but a better one because it allows you to stay in the comfort of your home. Named as one of the few high-paying jobs, however, since you will be self-employed, there are no other benefits, and it requires a graveyard shift.

"Followed by Freelance Writing or Graphic Designing" refers to accepting write-ups or creative works and finishing them at your convenience. To champion in this space is to create a standard profile that may catch the attention of clients and keep on updating your high-quality outputs while ensuring a worthy, eye-grabbing portfolio.

Fourth on the list screams, "This is for you, art girlies!" Digital Products are made to cater to people who need a template design for their presentation or for a gift. Just two steps and voila~ you’re done.

If your niche is scrapbooking, then draft an aesthetic design for this, and once finished, create an online account on Ko-fi, Raket PH, and other digital websites that have free or minimal commission fees.

Lastly is entering Entrepreneurship. Nowadays, small businesses are gateways to showcase Filipinos’ talent in arts and crafts. Examples are charms and jewelry, knitting and crochet, or other niches that you have.

Anything is possible as long as you start trusting yourself and sprinkle lots of self-improvement while investing in your own potential, believing it can bring you closer to your dream.

Nonetheless, these are only some ideas, and further research is advisable. It’s not bad to explore new things, but do not forget that frauds are still prevalent everywhere—so make reading and fact-checking a habit.

In conclusion, the habit should be to read, search, learn, and share, allowing everyone to win and grow!
