Travelers - If you are a huge science fiction fan, this show is for you. Jam packed with superb thrilling action, drama and suspense. This three season series follows a story of operatives which is called Travelers as the title suggests. The conscious minds of the chosen and designated travelers are sent back into the current time and take over the bodies of people before their recorded time of death. These travelers have to adapt in the moment, take over the lives of the chosen individual or the 'host' and carry out their mission undercover. The goal of these travelers is to save the world from an post-apocalyptic future and the collapse of society wherein they are orchestrated by their leader known as the 'Director'.
Sense8 - To define the overall premise of this Netflix show --unique and enticing. From the creative and genius minds of its creators, Sense8 is a highly budgeted one as it was taken from London, Mumbai, Nairobi, Spain a lot more. Contained with lots of confusion, lies, emotion, drama, love and action, Sense8 offers a rollercoaster of stories. Eight strangers from 8 different countries across the globe coming from different backgrounds found themselves connected and linked to another through visions and the ability to take over the consciousness of one another. They have come together to seek answers and save themselves from the threat of a mysterious organization that hunts them down and eventually tries to eliminate them.
Virgin River - Looking for a restart after her husband's tragic death, Mel, a nurse practitioner left her lavish life in Los Angeles finding herself in a small yet colorful town of Virgin River. A love story sparked between her and ex-Marine turned bar owner Jack. Virgin River also tackles the story of individual characters from the town and how their lives are connected to one another. This show is definitely one of my favorites, it feels like I am also a part of the breathtaking town of Virgin River. And the scenery-- amazing.
The Last Kingdom - If a were to compare it to a highly popular and in demand drama with the same theme, I guess it would be The Game of Thrones. Unlike GOT, The Last Kingdom does not reach the same success and recognition but despite that, this series reached five long wonderful seasons. A story about Uhtred, a valiant warrior who witnessed the death of his fathers when he was a child. Raised by the Danish family who killed his family, Uhtred learned to live like one. As the series progresses, Uhtred went into a series of dilemmas about family, life and love and of course his plan in reclaiming the stolen kingdom that is rightfully his.
Marco Polo - Unfortunately, due to the low viewer reports, Netflix decided to continue this highly budgeted show. Despite fans clamoring for the third season, it seems that it is done for good. Nevertheless, the two released seasons available on the platform are still a must-watch and should be on your list. Considered to be a great historical drama, the show is based upon the life and adventure of Marco Polo as he explores the world of Kublai Khan's court in 13th Century China and the dark battle for the expansion of Mongol Empire which will leave you out of breath. From the cast, location, acting, props, costumes -- basically everything is crafted to perfection.
