Metallica was 'totally blown away' over 'Master of Puppets' scene in Stranger Things

Legendary heavy metal band Metallica said it was "totally blown away" with how its 1986 classic song Master of Puppets was used and performed by the Eddie Munson in the sci-fi online hit series Stranger Things 4: Volume 2.

The legendary heavy metal band took to Instagram on Tuesday, July 5, to praise the hit Netflix series for using their classic hit into the gut-wrenching finale.

They also gave a special shout-out to actor Joseph Quinn, who portrayed the role of Eddie Munson, the “Hellfire Club” leader and absolutely torned on the guitar.

“The way The Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into ‘Stranger Things’ has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include ‘Master of Puppets’ in the show, but to have such a pivotal scene built around it,” their statement said, pertaining to show creators Matt and Ross Duffer.

“We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away… it’s so extremely well done, so much so, that some folks were able to guess the song just by seeing a few seconds of Joseph Quinn’s hands in the trailer!! How crazy cool is that?” They added.

Stranger Things 4: Volume 2 is now available on Netflix for streaming. Meanwhile, the creators will start writing for the season 5—its last season— in August, and it is said to air in 2024.
