Five DIY Halloween snacks to make at home
By Spooky 30 Oct 2020 1104

Are you planning to celebrate Halloween at home? Even during this period of GCQ or General Community Quarantine, you can still make it a fun and safe celebration with your family. It doesn't need to be grand. Dress up in your Halloween best and enjoy some time watching horror flicks, Halloween-themed cartoon movies, and sharing food together.

Why not prepare some Halloween-themed snacks? You don't need to have the culinary skills of a seasoned chef. With the needed ingredients, you can create easy-to-make and yummy treats perfect for everyone.

Here are some suggestions. So, let's start the feast!

  1. Halloween Cheese and crackers

You don't need to turn on your gas stove to make these handy treats! All you need is a pack of circular or rectangular crackers and cheddar cheese. With a cookie cutter or knife, cut the slice of cheese into the

desired shapes, such as ghosts or pumpkins. Now you have cheesy crackers that you can eat immediately!

  1. Bloody finger hot dogs

This is your usual hotdog sandwich---with a spooky twist! Slice out your hotdogs to make them look like fingers, then boil the hotdogs for 4-5 minutes. Then place each hotdog in a sandwich bun, and don't forget to spread some ketchup on it for that bloody effect!

  1. Cookie Spiders

Make your chocolate sandwich cookies more colorful! Even Spiderman will love these sweet treats! To start, add 8 small pieces of pretzel sticks or bread crackers on the side for the spider's legs. Then flatten out two small white marshmallows and place it on top of the cookie sandwich. You can use black frosting or black/brown colored candy-coated candies for the spider's eyes.

  1. Halloween Trail-Mix

This is like trail mix, made sweeter with the addition of candy-coated chocolates (like M&Ms), salted peanuts, pretzels, popcorn, and gummy candy. Just pour each pack of ingredients into a bowl, mix them all together, and enjoy! Kids and the young-at-heart will love munching on these treats! Don't forget to refill the bowls!

  1. Jack-o-Lantern Floats

Orange soda topped with 1-2 scoops of vanilla ice cream will complete this cool drink! Make sure to pour it in clear glasses designed with cute monster faces, and you're all set!
