By Jhoemz Vercide 25 Nov 2020 998

Yup, 2020 happened and some of our much-awaited Christmas highlights and attractions are going online!

Known for its ‘magical’ shows and spectacle displays, the Ayala Triangle Gardens’ ‘Festival of Lights’ has launched its virtual edition for the first time after 11 years due to mass gathering restrictions.

Unlike previous years, there will be no on-ground installation and the crowd’s annual tradition is going virtual bringing magic and hope to the comfort of our homes.

This year, Ayala’s Festival of Lights has three components, the first highlight is a 360-degree immersive video that features all-new Christmas-themed animations, fireworks, and lights, and will be streamed every 6 p.m. through Make It Makati's and Ayala Land's Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube pages in partnership with Globe Studios and Acid House.

For the second component, a new augmented reality filter will be launched every week of December and there will be a collection of free Christmas filters, which will soon be available through Make It Makati's Instagram page.

The third and last component is probably a treat for all the viewers, Shopee and Grab badges will be available on the videos for a chance to get cool prizes weekly.

Also, you can scan QR codes found all over Makati's business district to launch the video on your phone, if you’re ditching social media or having a break from the digital world.

Yup, we feel you, it’s sad that we won’t be able to experience the ‘magic and happiness in one of the most popular Christmas attractions in the Metro which is known for showing off world-class displays and transforming the courtyard into a spectacular space of colorful lights, cool lasers, and festive music every holiday season.

But hey, as long as we’re safe from the virus as their main priority, we all should still be grateful.

Okay, get your phones and feel the spirit of Christmas.
